    Hello Will - thank you for this wonderful plug in for ugs . I use ugs platform 20231006 and I don’t know if it is a bug or i miss a stetting - i zero the cnc at the crnter of the stock - before i apply the scan to the gcode spindle is running to the beginning of the code and stars executing . But if i apply the scan to the gcode the spindle first runs to the zero point (center of the stock ) z goes down to zero (stock surface) and at this hight it runs (z at surface of the stock) to the start of the gcode and destroys my surface of the stock . Why it runs to zero ? It is not in the gcode ! How i prevent this behavior? Thanks in advance Amir

    Very good i guess important part is not to push on the hot plastic wall where bearing side walls touch but to push on the edge

    Do I have to go through every one of those steps every time I place a new work piece? If so, it seems like its faster to just find zero manually.

    You could also try freezing the bearing for a couple hours while leaving the printed part room temp. Bearing shrinks enough to just press in and when back to room temp it expands. Of course this depends on tolerances.

    Thank you for posting this video. I was totally lost before I watched it. After watching it I was able to setup and run the probe module in UGS. There was one problem that I encountered with the accuracy oh the x/y zero point. I measured X and Y offsets but had tweek those numbers to obtain better accuracy for those axis.

    @Will, Please consider adding a setting for probing for the "inside corner" rather than the "outside corner". I built a touch block that has the contact surface on the inside rather than the outside for X and Y axes.

    Good stuff, now there needs to be accommodation for a simple header to interconnect the two; sort of like the sequencer setup. Have you built any of the other “leet” modules yet?

      No. Honestly I lost a lot of interest when I found out they needed to be hooked together with a computer. I'd like to make some sort of generative sequencer. Have you made one?

      @@WillWinder kind of a hilarious stumble from “pretty sure I’ve got that stuff on the shelf” to multiple Amazon orders for the various bits; but yes, so far the keyboard, sequencer, control8, and Linux, which had its own uphill battle with the OLED display, nobody sells the 6 pin...the software for the Linux bit isn’t quite polished but it looks like squishbox does basically the same thing and could be ported, making an otg hub/audio for the Linux pi W in the same form factor but really an Android thing is equally or more effective, but I haven’t pulled down a specific DAW app to tinker w/.

    Hey Will - LOVE your build (more on that below!) Would really like all us folks who're building these to be active on the vonkonow forum - it's a really cool project and I'm finding the help back and forth crucial (more on that below too!) I've /just/ built the LEET Keyboard and a LEET Pad (still debugging the latter; the former is showing correct blinkenlights boot sequence). Posted my discovery in USA of what wire to use on VonKonow.com forum (tl;dr: lamp/zip/appliance cord is super; 39 strands ea side of 0.3mm). Again, LOVE your build - esp the white/black tactile switches, and would love to know about those, especially if you found "low force" (50g/.5N) as Johan suggested. I got a bag of 100 from Amazon for USD$6 which are just fine but seem pretty clicky, no clue what the OF is and they're not telling (I asked: seller was "GZFY" as in typical Amazon randomly-made-up Chinese supplier name).

    Can't get this to work on Chilipepper with a 3018 as it throws soft limits but a standard macro for probing works just fine.

    Hey, i am planning to use some ball bearing and this was what i have been looking for. Any info on the tolerance you used? my bearings are 22 mm in diameter

      Make the hole 22mm on the STL + whatever your extrusion width will be in the slicer. If using a .4 nozzle and extruding .45 width, make the hole 22.45mm. That should get you pretty close. Depending on the material and temps, you may need to add or subtract .01-.03 for expansion or contraction when the part cools on the bed.

      It's called a "triquetra", it's a simple device that works well with grbl machines.

    Would the probe addon work for any machine or is it firmware dependent? Would love to be able to probe all 3 axis on my Millright Mega V I just got the build complete and learning all the software now.

      I've only tested it with GRBL. I believe thats what millright uses so it should work for you.

    Great video. for some reason my xyz probe when run in xyz will travel almost the entire way down the probe after it does the z and then the x. cant figure it out. it is actually working perfect on the x and y probe and the z probe but does it only on the xyz probe setup, any idea thanks again, Bob
